Annual Suicide Prevention week Project
Every year since 2016 I’ve made a project for suicide prevention week- 2017-18 were both photography projects. (The first being a written project) For 17-18 I interviewed people online and in person on how they would picture their own mental illness, I took all the interviews together and put together these photos. 2017 was all from female perspective and female model (unintentionally) so for 2018 I decided to do an all male perspective with a male model, which was much harder to find people willing to be interviewed but I did thankfully! However I couldn’t find all the same illnesses so I depicted only 6 for 2018. I won’t say too much because I want the photos to speak for themselves, but this is an ongoing project that means a lot to me and I hope helps someone feel less alone.
I am not sure if I am going to be able to do one for 2019 due to moving and all of life’s craziness so I may have to skip this year but I don’t plan on stopping here.
Credits: The 2017 shoot was shot completely on my phone and edited on my phone, it was during a time when my camera was broken so I did the best I could. 2018 was shot on my fujifilm xt20 camera Models: Katie Hunter and Daniel Stearns
